"Face your deficiencies and acknowledge them; but do not let them master you. Let them teach you patience, sweetness, insight."
*Helen Keller
I was having coffee with a friend the other day who had just returned from a spiritual workshop. At this moment, I can't remember the exact terminology he used but the center is associated with some of the most reknown spiritual leaders of our time from all religious affiliations. I think that this quote from Helen Keller captivates what he was trying to share with me. It was hard to extract what he learned through verbalization. It seemed to affect him in such a way that I had to listen with my senses rather than with my ears. He always has a great presence but this time it was subtle, peaceful, and yet stronger. It is hard to describe but I think almost everyone can relate to being around someone like that or maybe even feeling like that personally from time to time. I would call it being empowered with the mastery of self love.
"Sometimes the subconscious mind manifests a wisdom several steps or even years ahead of the conscious mind, and has its own way of leading us toward our destiny."
Nathaniel Branden (American Psychologist)
Perhaps what my friend has done is brought the subconscious mind to the forefront in order to gain mastery over the conscious limitations that are inherent and learned in this mortal coil.
