My friend Graham posted regarding a question a friend of his posed and requested that others blog their responses. Pilar is asking for "techies" to describe their dream home. I am in the InfoSec industry and feel compelled to toss my two bits into this. Am I a "techie"? I am not sure but I certainly do love having a purse full of gadgets. Currently I am sporting a Sony DSC-T1 Cybershot digital Camera and a Sidekick II as well as an additional cell phone for work. Later this afternoon I may add an ipod shuffle to the mix. I have thought a lot about the question and I would love to live in the Azure which is currently being built on the edge of Dallas. Azure promises to be one of the most extraordinary places to live (Penthouse J on the 30th floor for me please) constructed with unparalleled views of Downtown and multiple expansive terraces for all. The structure is clean, crisp, and peaceful on the higher floors that transcend the mogul trance required to produce the income to afford a place such as this. I think having my private pool and two levels of outdoor terraces would make me despise having even a television. I might be more inclined to entertain, meditate, paint, or read. While Pilar asks what special technology would make the home better, I would all but eliminate anything that doesn't belong in the kitchen except for this: A plasma wall that would be illuminated with slide shows of my favorite places or photographed memories so that while I relax above it all, I am reminded of everything and everyone I love. The trouble maker in me would also like some laser light show equipment to bounce off of the glass buildings Downtown for parties and ....a powerful telescope could be fun. "No one keeps up his enthusiasm automatically. Enthusiasm must be nourished with new actions, new aspirations, new efforts, new vision. It is ones own fault if his enthusiasm is gone; he has failed to feed it." *Papyrus
well.. it's like I knew!

Kytari, I love your thoughts.. Graham did mention to me that you have a very special way of thinking, and sharing very valuable insights. I think that sometimes in the capitalistic world that we live, one looses a sense of 'what is really important in life, love, friends, health. I completely see eye to eye with you when you say that in life we do not have "desires with out also having the means to fulfill them." This self-confidence in achieving what you want is very magnetic, and it's very similar to how I approach life.. I guess us kindred spirits who make "lemonade out of lemons" still are abundant. :-) Cheers, and I hope one day I can meet you at AZURE. ;-)

Thanks Pilar for posing the questions. I am quite positive that I will live at Azure or someplace a lot like it someday. I don't believe that we have our desires without also having the means to fullfill them. I hope to nourish my soul, spirit and others in this life a great deal more than I invest in my physical residence; however.

Kytari, your entry is AWESOME, and I can totally see how AZURE captured your living dreams. :-) I love the adjectives you used to describe the surroundings, as "clean, crisp, and peaceful ." This is such a perfect description. I also found it so interesting that you would eliminate TV as a mode of entertainment, and the actual "place" would offer so many more appealing amenities. Lastly, I love how you integrate the importance of being close to everything you love through the plasma screen - your description is fantastic, and it teaches me that technology in the 'techie's' world is merely another tool to be closer to one's inner self, and the other world of things we love. :-) Thank you so much for your "two bits of info."
