I finally broke down and purchased a Roomba 580 and a Scooba 380 after some deliberation and searching for the best deal. Fortunately, there are web specials on irobot.com for the most previous generation BUT if you want the latest and greatest like me, there is a limited time offer of a $100 discount for the newest products which I purchased.
I do not mind cleaning but I am a perfectionist so, taking time out of my busy schedule to vacuum and mop as often as I should can be a pain. I hired a maid but when I arrived home after her visit, I literally knocked myself out because the floors were so slippery that I fell flat on my back. It took weeks for me to be able to walk around here in heels. No es Bueno.
The impact on my cats was cruel. Watching them try to go from room to room on their high speed chases was sort-of entertaining but completely dangerous. There is a saying that cats always land on their feet...SO NOT TRUE!
I will give feedback on my new products after I have had a chance to use them. Already, my perception is favorable since there are 2 less things that I have to do and the testimonials from my friends are amazing.
I completely agree with your decision to purchase the Roomba! I am seriously contimplating it as well. With 2 cats and a yellow lab...my floors are always a disaster!

Sounds like the machines are working out better than the maid! My friend arrived home early one afternoon to find her maid asleep in her bed. Nice, eh? Now are the cats running from the Roomba or chasing after it?
