I just received my Motorola Q in the mail available through Verizon. Of course, I still have my t-mobile Sidekick II. I got into the habit of having 2 phones as one always belonged to my company and I want to have a constant number that is just for family and friends. Most people found it rather silly especially since I worked for the same company for nearly 5 years but when I left a year ago and received my work Treo, I was so thankful I kept my Sidekick. There was just too much activity on my work phone and to be honest, I wasn't fond of the device one bit. I would get cramps in my thumbs trying to send a 2 line email. It actually paid off to have two phones with two different service providers in Toronto as the phone that would work varied within the city.
Fortunately, I was able to pick out whatever phone/service provider I wanted with this new company. I could have simply used my Sidekick but I want to synchronize with my Outlook. Again, two phones is the only answer but the difference is that I never have to give the second one back. For me though, I personally like to have multiple devices that do relatively the same things in different ways. I like the fun of the Sidekick and the business of the Motorola Q (although it is also an mp3 player) just as I like the neat things I can do with my iBook vs. the better work funtionality of the PC.
It is too early to rate the Q but the reviews I have read were positive with the exception of battery life. Well, at least I have two phones if I get into a bind, right? And, if I am going to carry both, the Motorola Q has the best form factor. If I like the Q, it may be possible that I sadly relinquish my Sidekick.
If this has been too boring....There is a Profashional Makeup Review Coming Soon!!!!
